Preparations for the #EURegionsWeek 2022 have officially started! All the applicants will contribute to the discussion on the challenges emerging at European, regional and local level.
Organized by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy and the European Committee of the Regions, the European Week of Regions and Cities 2022 has already launched the call for partners for its 20th edition in October 2022. It is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
Many interesting topics will be covered: on top of green transition, territorial Cohesion and youth empowerment, digital transition will also be addressed as well, of crucial importance for dRural. How can the new generation of EU programmes and financial tools contribute to 2030 digital targets, facilitating our economy’s and society’s digital transition? How can regions and cities deliver a successful digital transition by addressing the specific targets around four cardinal points of this transition, by addressing (a) digital skills; (b) digital infrastructures; digitalisation of (c) businesses and (d) public services? What is the role of regions and cities in addressing the digital challenges?
dRural is ready to get involved in the event trying to answer these questions, thanks to the many digital challenges that its platform and the relative service marketplace include. For this reason, dRural and AURORAL have applied together and join forces with the aim to organise a workshop centered about the solutions provided by the two projects in line with the EU Regions Week objectives.
The EURegionsWeek 2022 will offer a timely occasion to discuss challenges and share best practices that will shape the debate for a more sustainable and inclusive Europe.
Outcomes of the application will be available mid May.
