dRural has successfully concluded a series of three impactful knowledge transfer workshops towards the SMART ERA project

The dRural project has successfully concluded a series of three impactful knowledge transfer workshops designed to promote the replication of its results to the SMART ERA project. These workshops, held in September and October 2024, aimed to foster collaboration and share best practices between the two initiatives, both dedicated to advancing digital innovation in rural areas.

The workshops covered essential topics, including:

  1. Practical Management of Open Calls (September 25, 2024) – Led by dRural partners, this session provided a comprehensive overview of managing the project open calls and the interaction with Mirror Regions, offering valuable insights into overcoming challenges and ensuring successful outcomes.
  2. Technical Implementation of the dRural Platform (October 1, 2024) – Focused on the tools developed for creating local marketplaces, this workshop showcased the technical processes behind the dRural platform, along with regional coordination strategies.
  3. Advice on Upscaling and Replication (October 17, 2024) – Participants received expert advice on replicating dRural’s efforts across regions, with a focus on business transformation and upscaling the pilot projects and technology providers involved.

The workshops were attended by more than 30 participants overall.

These knowledge transfer workshops mark a significant milestone in the dRural project’s mission to inspire innovation and strengthen rural communities through digital tools. The knowledge shared will serve as a foundation for future projects and collaborations, with SMARTERA poised to benefit from the lessons learned.

The dRural project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program, is committed to creating a sustainable legacy through knowledge transfer and collaborative development.

Stakeholders interested in exploiting the dRural knowledge can access papers and materials uploaded on the resources section of the dRural website and attend the dRural Academy courses.
