We’ve just about set up the 4 regional marketplaces in the project’s rural communities and they will soon go live.

In the first months of the project, we looked carefully at the ins and outs – both technical and non-technical. This painstaking groundwork was guided by the aim of developing the dRural platform to serve the needs of the local ecosystems, including residents, entrepreneurs, local authorities and service suppliers. Our watchword? Better quality of life for all.

In late May, dRural partners went to Dubrovnik for their first meeting. This allowed them to look more closely at aligning complex services (services connect to existing platforms) with the value specifications of the ecosystems. They also discussed monitoring marketplace effectiveness through smart KPIs. And technical requirements and platform releases were reviewed so that the team could outline a roadmap for service deployment and first delivery of the Minimum Viable Product in June 2022.

While in Dubrovnik, the partners held workshops on the different strands of dRural, including, demand driven approach, technical aspects, impact and sustainability) to help regional services marketplaces grow and thrive, even beyond the project.

dRural platform will change what it means to live and do business in rural areas. They will support healthcare facilities and patients, help local producers find new customers and improve tourism and hospitality services, among others

Lots of work ahead for dRural, but all the dots are starting to become a coherent constellation announcing the new dawn of our rural areas.
